Mid-Atlantic Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare dermatopathology practice, is privileged to include Naghmeh Yousefzadeh, M.D., as a highly valued member of its physician staff. With extensive teaching experience in the field of dermatopathology and dermatology, Dr. Yousefzadeh brings tremendous knowledge and skill to her work at Mid-Atlantic Pathology Services.
Dr. Yousefzadeh received her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, where she graduated in the top 4% of her class. Subsequently, she served her residency in pathology at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She then completed fellowships in dermatopathology (trained by Dr. A. Bernard Ackerman and Dr. Geoffery Gottlieb) at Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology, Department of Dermatology, Columbia University in New York, and in nephropathology at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes, Department of Pathology/ Renal Pathology in Baltimore, Maryland. Here, she was honored with the Young Investigator Award in 2002 from Johns Hopkins University of Pathology, Department of Pathology. Dr. Yousefzadeh began her career at Dianon Systems in Stratford, Connecticut. She also served at Ameripath/Dermpath Diagnostics Laboratory in Port Chester, New York. For many years, she has taught dermatopathology to dermatology residents in multiple academic institutions, including SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York as a clinical assistant professor, as well as Metropolitan Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Yousefzadeh has been involved in the Northeast board review of dermatopathology for dermatology residents. In addition, she has assisted in the training of dermatopathology fellows at Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology. She also joined the Howard University Department of Dermatology as the assistant professor of dermatopathology.
Dr. Yousefzadeh is board certified in dermatopathology and anatomic pathology.
